How can my daughter join Guiding?

Maldives had a School based Guiding program. Please contact your daughter’s school for details to join. There are no criteria or conditions to join Guiding.

Don’t have Guiding in your school? Why doesn’t u take the initiative and be a Guide/Little Maid volunteer Leader? We need enthusiastic people to make the Guiding experience fun and adventurous to Girls.

How much does Girl Guides cost?

Guiding is a great value! Membership starts at just RMV 10/- per year with monthly subs (various in different schools) and uniform. The subs will be used for Guising activities, which you may need to pay extra at times. Of course, want schools to things with minimum cost. After all, being thrifty is part of Guiding.

What about safety?

At Guiding, safety is a top priority. All activities are supervised, and we provide our volunteers with training and program resources.

Are there opportunities for parents and adults to volunteer with Girl Guides?

Sure! We encourage all Ladies from various walks of life and age to VOLUNTEER to help develop girls and Young women to their fullest potential though Guiding. Be their mentor, helping them develop skills and confidence that will last long after the meeting is over. Imagine the smiles, the excitement, the memories made…  it sure feels good.

Ready to become the role model they will always remember? Check our Adult’s Program for more information.

Is Guiding too time consuming and difficult? What if my daughter ‘fails’?

Guiding is not about passing or failing. It’s about the experience and development. Of course! There is program for Girls to follow to do this in a systematic manner. The programs are sliced into various Guide ‘Branches’ according to age. Stars (6-7), Little Maids (8-12), Guides (13-17), Young Leaders (17 +).

The programs are designed to encourage Girls to develop them, to be useful to others, widen their interests and knowledge and encourage adventure and fun. These are certain basic things the girls need to learn at each stage, which is assessed through demonstration of knowledge and not EXAMS. The program is flexible enough for Girls to progress in areas of interests.
